Lobbying and Legislative Issues
The NICB offers the only lobbying effort directly focusing on independent community banks in Nebraska. We provide community banks with a voice both in our state’s legislative process as well as in Washington. By effectively aggregating your political and community power our presence helps shape solid public policy.
With our affiliation to the national organization, Independent Community Banker of America (ICBA), we can provide our Nebraska banks with national representation, resources, educational products, seminars, and publications.
Every year a complimentary directory is given to all member as a reference tool that lists all bank and associate members as well as other references useful to the banking industry.
The NICB Newsletter is sent to all members and is a great way to reach our 200+ members. The newsletter keeps you updated on all NICB events and banking news as well as legislative issues, educational programs, and industry related topics. Our newsletter provides information vital to independent banking in Nebraska.
Management and Directors Conference
The NICB Management and Directors Conference offers educational and informational seminars geared toward independent community banks. The programs are of substance and address topics of today and banking in the future. The tradeshow provides community bankers a chance to speak directly with many vendors on products and services to enhance their bank’s portfolio. This is also an opportunity to network with your peers on issues facing our bankers in Nebraska. As a member of the NICB you can attend this valuable conference at a low cost.
NICB has over 55 associate members. Our associate members are a group of industry related companies that understand the needs of our community bankers. NICB associate members provide a viable resource and asset to our association. We invite our membership to use this resource as their first option when looking for companies to fill a need or service for their bank. As an associate member you will receive ongoing correspondence of activities, events and updates on legislation affecting the association. Most importantly you will be providing support to promote independent community banking in Nebraska.
